2022年1月2日，成立5年的眾新聞，要跟大家告別。 還記得2017年的元旦，眾新聞成立。在記者會上，多名傳媒「老鬼」表示，對本港新聞自由狀況深感憂慮，希望眾新聞可以傳承專業新聞精神，回歸新聞初心，為公眾利益、為公眾服務，「希望我們的一小步，可以鼓勵業界行一小步，各人的一小步可以形成保護新聞自由的一大步。」 然後，眾新聞在資源極度緊絀的情況下，每天嘗試踏出一小步，慢慢地行出一條小路：獨家新聞、數據新聞、人物專訪、調查報道、深度評論、法庭新聞、中國新聞、眾聲集……縱然我們人力有限，新聞不夠多、不夠快，但我們整個小團隊，老鬼和後生仔都一條心，努力在新聞報道上求真、求深。 慢慢地，我們由十人，變成數十人的團隊；由起初街頭人們一句句的「眾新聞？唔識喎」，到今天聽到人們說：「眾新聞？我有睇。」 5年了，多謝大家。 ───────── 2017年1月1日，眾新聞發布的首篇文章寫道： 「眾新聞在2017這個特別的元旦誕生，因為，我哋想喺以後嘅日子，不論太陽高掛或是風吹雨打，都陪住你唱番呢句：『同熱愛這片土地，大家刻骨銘記，愁或喜，生與死，也是香港地。』」 我們一直熱愛這片土地，但無奈，當下我們面對的不單是風吹雨打，而是龍捲風吹襲，巨浪滔天。 我們從來沒有忘記初心，但可惜，過去兩年社會的遽變，傳媒生存環境惡化，令我們無法再毫無擔憂地，達成我們的理念。 身在風眼，我們這隻小艇，在風高浪急的當下，情況嚴峻。在危機中，我們必須先確保船上的所有人，可以平平安安。 我們，懷著沉重和萬般不捨的心情決定於2022年1月4日起停止營運，網站不再更新。 衷心感謝訂戶和讀者的支持，你們的厚愛，我們會銘記於心。 過去5年走過的路，會是我們珍重的回憶。 眾新聞團隊
