Beca.org Meta Description
BECA is the BECA.org Foundation, Inc. (BECA means "scholarship" in Spanish.) BECA is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works in Nicaragua. It facilitates technical school scholarships for high school graduates who are serious about continuing their education, but don't have the financial means to do so.
Candidates are qualified via a six month screening process that includes a computer course and full-time volunteering in a primary school. Those that finish receive a scholarship to study a technical career of their choice.
The scholarship includes transportation expenses, tuition and books.
BECA supervises student progress by monthly visits to their school or home.
